ZipSnap
ZipSnap is a simple command-line directory backup tool that creates compressed point-in-time snapshots, adding only new or modified files at each time. A ZipSnap archive comprises a catalog (a text file) and a set of compressed volumes (regular Zip files). Only the catalog is required for identifying new or modified files when adding snapshots. By default, files are identified by their relative path name, size, and last modified time (with an allowance of +/- 1 second for matching). Additionally, the CRC-32 checksum can be used. The allowance for the last modified time can also be specified. Files may be extracted by snapshot number (so as to reconstruct the entire directory as cataloged at some point in time) or by volume number (to extract only the new or modified files corresponding to some snapshot). ZipSnap is free software written in Java. Runs on any OS with the Java Runtime Environment (JRE 5.0+), e.g. Windows, Linux, Mac. Released under the GNU GPL license (version 2).
