AlterStyle
Great tool for automated proofreading of texts translated into English, German, French other European and some non-European languages. Objective: The objective is to help people avoid paying for expensive manual proofreading of mail, commercial, technical or scientific texts and other documents. How it works: It is well-known that search engines like Google and AltaVista allow searching in billions of documents. AlterStyle divides a text into word groups and checks their frequencies using e.g. Google. A low frequency (number of hits) is a signal for the author to correct the sentence. It is essentially that some basic knowledge of the language is required.
