Pocket Cook for Windows
Pocket Cook for Windows 5.0 is a program that manages your recipe collection on any Windows PC. It runs without a PDA, but can be upgraded to include PDA software that allows recipes on your desktop to be synchronized with the recipes on your PDA. Pocket Cook for Windows 5.0 incorporates 4000 supplied recipes with the ability to add your own recipes, and also for recipes to be imported from industry standard file formats. Create your own collection from the millions available on the Web, or use your own personal favorites. All the supplied categories and styles can be completely customized to your needs. Set up a Xmas category, or Granny's Favorite or anything else. Every recipe can be searched for any number of words in the Title, Ingredients or Directions. Use it to find out what recipes you can cook with that leftover bacon, basil and garlic. With a sophisticated nutritional analyser built-in, you can quickly work out the effect on your diet of any recipe choice - even your own input recipes. With the PDA upgrade, recipes are automatically hotsynced to your PDA as they are created or changed. Any changes made on your PDA are also automatically uploaded on the next HotSync. Recipes are organised into categories and styles. Select any combination of these or simply enter a keyword to find all recipes that have it associated with. Or create your own categories and styles. Manage your recipes by using multiple databases and copy and move recipes between them. Use your digital camera to take pictures of your favourite meals and attach them to a recipe. E-mail the full details of any recipe, or bulk e-mail a selection of recipes. Choose from Plain Text or HTML. Automatic version check and download is standard and you can view Measurement Conversion Tables at the click of a mouse. Recalculate Ingredient quantitities for a different number of servings, and 'Smart Paste' new recipes from web sites or text files.
