If you are working for a shipping company or in the shipping department you've definitely came across that last "tricky" digit in container or tank container number - the Check Digit. It is a special digit that is being calculated by special formula and based on previous 4 characters and 6 digits. The idea behind it is to validate actual serial number for misspelling or other mistakes. Unfortunately in many cases (you have definitely seen it!) that number in shipping documents is missing or wrong. As a result it can cause delayed shipments, problems with custom clearance, etc. etc. That is why we have developed this program that calculates CORRECT Check Digit at the click of a button.
